For those of us who use twitter, you may have noticed several new hashtags in the past few weeks.

These two hashtags were created by Airplanista Magazine editor Dan Pimental.

Airventure Booth Guests

Flying Lawnmower?

When I first saw this image with the subject line “Radical new propulsion system could render helicopters obsolete” over at dvice.com it reminded me of a flying lawnmore.

Either that or one of those golfball pickup devices you see at the driving range.

But instead it’s really a new propulsion system that is apparently nearly silent and can function similar to a helicopter in flight characterstics without the huge spinning blades.

Oshkosh Airventure 2011

Come visit with us at Airventure 2011 July 23rd-31st! Gold Seal will have a double booth in Hangar B (Booths 2067-2068).

Rutan Lego Fun

A project started in 2008 by Burt Rutan’s son, Jeff Rutan, and Burt Rutan’s grandson, Cole Zellner, is starting to gain some press.

What project is this you ask? Well they started to design and build custom LEGO models of Burt Rutan designs, starting with a 1/30th scale model of Spaceship Two.

Wired did a nice article on the project, which I’ve linked to below along with links to their website directly where you can download a draft version of instructions for one of their models.
